1) Electronic mail is a mission-critical service for any dental office, and as such we want to make sure that your email is available 24/7/365.  All hosting providers do experience downtime -- no matter how expensive the service -- and thus your email can suffer from this downtime as well.  It is for this reason that we require that all of our clients host email on enterprise-level platforms such as Google Apps or Microsoft 365.  Google and Microsoft have thousands upon thousands of servers, and they are generally two of the most reliable service providers for email service.  

Short Hills Design, the parent company of DentalWPHosting.com, runs all email off of Google Apps for Business. 

2) E-mail is one of the services that can slow down a server, and because we want to provide the fastest experience possible for our clients, we require that email be hosted off-site.
